Apples n Widgets n Such

Yippeeeee!!!!! It is official. MS' first apple store opened its doors this past weekend. Yours truly attended the grand opening. (am still drooling over the new 24in. imacs) Some of you may know that I am in love with apple products. It's a love affair that began the moment I opened my first macbook almost 2 years ago. While I did not get the new imac, I did finally get the nerve to upgrade to leopard. I know I've waited forever to do this...buuut, I really liked the trusty old tiger and was in no hurry to bury him. The new "Dashcode" widget maker was the deciding factor. For those of you who don't know what a widget is, it's an artsy little thingamajig that instantly displays useful information, features cool mini games, or performs other tasks such as counting down the days until the international goldfish owners' convention. Well....I don't know if there is actually such a thing as a international goldfish owners' convention, but you get the idea about widgets and their usefulness don't you? I am going to try making one as soon as I get the chance. I've been thinking about this and decided that the world desperately needs some artsy widgets.......widgets that are designed just for artists. I'll post them here once they are created.

Two of my paintings were recently accepted into juried exhibits.

"Remembering Mimaw" was accepted into the Mississippi Watercolor Society Grand National art exhibit. It will be displayed this fall at the Mississippi Museum of Art in Jackson.

"Bearded Lady" was accepted to show at the George Ohr National Challenge in Biloxi.
